More Rollercoasters!
The Year 8 students at Holden Lane were also involved in a Rollercoaster competition - they spent 2 weeks in science lessons designing and building rollercoasters. They had to take into account forces of friction, gravity and weight in order to produce the best rollercoaster. Judging was on design, function and additional features. Well done to all the participants for their ace designs!

Rollercoaster Competition!
A fantastic event where students from local primary schools met at Holden Lane High School to work with Year 9 students to build a Rollercoaster from pipe insulation and rolled paper! The students produced some amazing designs - well done!

Rainbow Island Disaster
Students from Birches Head, Holden Lane and Brownhills met in the Learning Resource Centre at Holden Lane to manage a crisis - Rainbow Island is threatened by an oil spill just off the coast. At risk are the fish, tourist attractions, local people and environment. Who is to blame? Who will pay for the clean-up operation? The students decide...
