Churnet Valley Male Voice Choir
Churnet Valley Male Voice Choir
INFORMATION TO COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS and CHURCHES
THE CHURNET VALLEY M.V.CHOIR CAN ACTIVELY ASSIST IN FUND RAISING OR PROVIDING ENTERTAINMENT IN THE EVENINGS OR AT WEEKENDS
Our Choir was founded in 1993, and is based in Cheadle, {Staffs}. We are not a competitive Choir but the members join for two reasons.
· The pleasure of singing in harmony to entertain communities in North Staffordshire and beyond.
· To assist local organisations, churches, and charities raise funds for the benefit of their community.
The Choir presents, on average, 10/12 concerts each year, and we present their own Annual Concert in Cheadle this April 29th at the Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Cheadle.
We sing at a wide range of venues in North Staffordshire and the Moorlands area, but we have also sung in Manchester, Crewe, Stafford, Warrington, and in Mitterteich, a town in Germany, which is twinned with Cheddleton and Wetley Rocks
Their musical repertoire is varied, ranging from Religious to Secular and from Pop to Classical. Mozart to the Beatles, by way of Queen’s, Bohemian Rhapsody plus 80 other songs, sung in English, Welsh, Spanish, Hebrew, French, German, or even Maori.
At a recent concert, one of the church organisers commented, - “The wide ranging programme provided by the Choir was very different from the normal expectations of male voice choir music, in that the concert featured hit songs from the 60s; 70s; 90; plus the current popular Maori love song Pokarekare Ana.”
As a small Choir we have the advantage and ability to assist both small and large community groups, to raise funds or provide evening entertainment, in local churches or village halls, something which larger Choirs are often unable to do.
The Choir, are prepared to consider the possibility of singing for local Weddings, Conferences, or Corporate Events, as well as seeking new venues. The members are willing to travel any reasonable distance to entertain or assist you and your organisation.
Whilst we do not charge any fee, a nominal donation to our sheet music fund would be appreciated. Why not visit the Choir web site at www.churnetvalleymvc.fsnet.co.uk
